Water scarcity and difficult supplying, rotation techniques and efficient products not applied in agriculture causing impoverished soil, irrigation with not treated wastewater resulting health hazards.

Valorisation of wastewater use in agriculture.

CeTAmb activities

Wastewater treatment and valorisation through a treatment–refining plant before reuse, examination of water pollution, wastewater use to irrigate vegetables, examination of crops and soil contamination.

Main results

No heavy metals accumulated in cultivated land, no visual differences for crops irrigated with different kinds of water, clear microbiological contamination for vegetables and lands irrigated with clarified sewage.
